Barbados Currency

In Barbados the local currency is the Barbados Dollar. The exchange rate is fixed against the US dollar at Bd1.98 to 1$.

Locals will happily accept Barbados Dollars or US dollars.

Cash machines are available on the island and you'll be able to withdraw money from your UK bank accounts via switch, maestro or from credit cards. You will be withdrawing Barbados dollars.

Credit cards are accepted at the main shops, hotels and restaurants.

Most hotels and bank will accept UK travellers cheques.
